Melody Tucker talks to media

Reporters crowd around Dr. Melody Tucker for interviews after her surprise Milken Educator Award notification. "I'm glad not only that I'm getting this award but also that Citronelle High School is getting this recognition," she tells the media. A passionate science teacher, Tucker is known for her use of innovative, project-based instruction in the classroom, such as asking students to create 3-D cell replicas. Tucker's students at high-poverty Citronelle High School maintain an impressive 93% passing rate.
