Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin congratulates Principal Debreon Davis on her Milken Award. Lowell Milken, she tells the assembly, is truly committed to education. "This is a big deal," she says. "Can you imagine giving $68 million of your own money for these awards to teachers?" As governor, Fallin launched an initiative to increase the number of college graduates in Oklahoma to help the state attract and retain jobs. "Governor Fallin is fighting for and leading an effort so that the students of Oklahoma can compete with the kids around the world, be they in Shanghai or Singapore," says Milken. "Businesses locate where there is human capital."
