Special guest Milken Family Foundation Chairman and Co-Founder Lowell Milken talks to the students about the importance of great educators like the one about to be honored here today. Lowell created the Milken Educator Awards nearly 30 years ago to honor outstanding teachers and to encourage their potential for even greater contributions in the future.
"I remember my teachers—my 4th grade teacher Mr. Fosse and my 5th grade teacher Mr. Sutton," he said. "They helped me take advantage of life's opportunities. Yes, good teachers really do matter.“
