"I'm glad not only that I'm getting this award but also that Citronelle High School is getting this recognition," she tells the media. A passionate science teacher, Tucker is known for her use of innovative, project-based instruction in the classroom, such as asking students to create 3-D cell replicas. Tucker's students at high-poverty Citronelle High School maintain an impressive 93% passing rate.
