Yvonne Toma is one of those rare individuals who infuses her students with a genuine joy in learning. Under her guidance at Kipapa Elementary School in Mililani, students in her gifted and talented class have written and produced original musicals for nearly a decade. These memorable productions focus on value lessons and are indeed collaborative efforts of students, parents, teachers and local community. Ms. Toma continually challenges students to be creative, express ideas and reach their potential. She is most appreciated by the students for creating an oral history to celebrate Kipapa School's 50th Anniversary.
