Ina Smernoff teaches English to the seventh and eighth grade students of East Hartford Middle School in East Hartford. A product of the Hartford school system herself, Ms. Smernoff traces her inspiration to teach to her first grade teacher. Ms. Smernoff has served in a variety of advocacy roles including as a member of special project committees and as a supporter of public school educators and gifted children. She has also been a member of numerous professional organizations as a representative of the East Hartford Public Schools."I don't believe you can have a more important career in life than that of a public school teacher, says Ms. Smernoff. The future is in our classrooms."
