Biographical Information

Dr. Vaughn G. Rhudy currently serves as the Reading/Language Arts and Online Writing Assessment Coordinator at the West Virginia Department of Education. Dr. Rhudy previously taught English and journalism at Shady Spring High School in Shady Spring, WV, where he created innovative educational activities to keep students engaged. A former award- winning newspaper reporter, Dr. Rhudy established the school's journalism program and advised the national award-winning student newspaper, The Tiger Times, as well as the school's yearbook. He developed a pre- Advanced Placement English curriculum and watched his students excel in the annual statewide writing assessment, which he now oversees on the state level.
