Robert Ziegler left his position as superintendent of schools in Madison, Nebraska, in 2004 to work fulltime with his brother and fellow Milken Educator Woody Ziegler (NE '96) on their company, Learning for the Future. Together they created the Educator's Virtual Mentor (www.educatorsvirtualmentor.com), a staff development process dedicated to presenting video examples of excellent teaching matched with articles summarizing current educational research. The site features Milken Educators, State Teachers of the Year, and teachers recognized by their districts and communities as being leaders in the educational arena. Districts and schools from across the country partner and subscribe to this new staff development process. Prior to serving for five years as superintendent of schools, Dr. Ziegler was principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where he was recognized with a Milken Educator Award in 1998.
Milken Educators represent the best instructors in the country. I am proud to be counted as one of you. The Educator's Virtual Mentor continues to look for the best of the best who work in the areas of teaching with technology, teaching how to manipulate technology, and how to serve all students especially those in diverse or minority settings. If you have an interest in becoming a visual example to others please contact me.
