Lore Wiggins taught in the foreign language department at Gateway High School in the Aurora Public School system. She also chaired the department and was district foreign language resource teacher. Dedicated to her field for over a quarter-century, she taught students who ranged in age from 10 to 70. She taught with a conviction that knowledge of another language increases tolerance and appreciation of other people and cultures. Dr. Wiggins served as president of Rocky Mountain French Teachers, and she was designated 1986 Teacher of the Year by the state foreign language association.
