Lore Wiggins (CO ’89) passed away at the age of 79. Lore was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States where she earned her PhD at the University of Texas-Austin. A passionate advocate for the study of language and culture to create understanding among people, she taught French, chaired the foreign language department at Gateway High School in Aurora, CO, and was past president of the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers. Lori was honored with the White House Commission on Presidential Scholar Program Recognition for Excellence in Teaching and Conscientious Contribution to Education. She practiced and reaped the benefits of her foreign language skills throughout her life, traveling to 80 countries.
