Biographical Information

Dr. Gregg Tracy retired in August 2006 after 30 years in public education. Most recently, Dr. Tracy was a professor at the University of Cincinnati in the Educational Leadership Program. Dr. Tracy has been a professor teaching courses at the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University and a school psychologist and principal in schools grades preschool through high school. He was the principal of Whitewater Valley Elementary School in Harrison, Ohio when he received the Milken Award and was also named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. According to Dr. Tracy, the sharing of ideas and team-based leadership led to the development of community schools in which parents, students, and staff had ownership in planning, programs, and decisions. Communication was stressed among all groups, and a strong sense of ownership led to highly competent, informed, and motivated faculty, students, parents and community members. Dr. Tracy is currently retired, filling his time with family, friends, athletic and arts activities, and travel.
