Biographical Information

Brenton Young currently serves as the Chief Policy Officer at the Wyoming Department of Education. Previously, he served as the Assistant Director of Instruction for Laramie County School District #1 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and as chairman of the Wyoming State Board of Education. He was also a member of the Wyoming Teacher Standards Board, was Principal at Buffalo Ridge Elementary, Willadsen Elementary and McCormick Jr. High, and has taught in grades K-12. Young worked with state leaders to adopt and revise state standards in all content areas, and was a member of a state task force charged with developing a new statewide assessment system for Wyoming.
