Biographical Information

Principal Brad Board helped create an inclusive learning environment at Deephaven Elementary School in Deephaven that offered all children better learning opportunities. Mr. Board's off-site summer program entitled "Jump Start" helped Title I students prepare for the school year ahead. He helped strengthen the Deephaven Parent Teacher Organization and was president of the Minnesota State Principal's Association. In the summer of 1997, Mr. Board raised awareness of educational issues by joining a team of cyclists who rode from Minneapolis to Washington, D.C., where he delivered a message on behalf of his students to Minnesota's legislative delegates. The bicycle trek also raised money for Minnesota's Special Olympics.

Brad retired from Minnetonka Public Schools in Spring of 2004 and moved to the Seattle area to be near his children and grandchildren.  He is a Business Consultant, Executive Coach and Facilitator for The Pacific Institute (since 2004).  The Courses he teaches include: Thought Patterns for High Performance, Leadership Mindset and Mindsetting Strategies for Leaders. It is a great joy and pleasure for Brad to be helping individuals and organization explore and achieve greater potential.

Personal Message

For the past several years I have been on the design team and served as the first principal of the Minnesota Business Academy. MBA is a charter high school of 400 students. The mission is to provide a strong liberal arts program and at the same time allow students, many of whom are not achieving well at the large high schools, real learning experiences in the world of work while still in high school. Another key to the success of the school is to keep the size at 400 so that every student is known personally. I was on leave of absence to start this school, but now have returned to a suburban elementary school. I'm most interested in personalizing the learning experience for students, both at elementary and at secondary levels. I'd be interested in any conversations or programs where personalized services or differentiated instruction are taking place.
