Milken Educator Award recipient Meghan LeFevers addresses the assembly gathered in her honor. “This school is a family, this community is a family, and this award is a family award,” she says. “I could not have received it without the support of everyone in the family.” Speaking of families, Meghan herself hails from a family of educators; her great-grandfather taught in a one-room schoolhouse, and her mother retired from Gaston County Schools after more than three decades in education.
