Dr. Gary Stark, chief executive officer for the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching and a 2001 Milken Educator from Arkansas, explains that the Milken Family Foundation travels the country looking for oustanding educators. And this year, out of three million teachers in the U.S., one of the very best is right here at Whittier Middle — and is about to receive a national award and a large cash prize.
