AL's Korri Cunningham Surprised With Milken Award

 

Korri Cunningham catches her breath during a quiet moment after her surprise Milken Educator Award notification. "I'm so grateful every day," she said to the crowd after accepting her Award. "All of my colleagues, all of the teachers and support staff, you guys make me a better person."

John Herbert Phillips Academy holds a special place for the Alabama educator. She started her career at JHPA as an English and language arts teacher, before going on to serve as an instructional coach and, now, International Baccalaureate (IB) coordinator. Cunningham is dedicated to helping colleagues reach their potential, leading professional development on literacy instructional strategies and providing resources to implement curriculum standards.
