After quickly regaining her composure, Carman addresses her colleagues and students, dignitaries and veteran Milken Educators, thanking them for the amazing honor.

"I love what I do, I love every single day of it," she said. "So, this is just icing on the cake. Coming to work is a thrill." Watch the rest of her emotional speech in the video.
