Ryan James Wins VA Milken Award

One of the dignitaries visiting for today's assembly occupies a very special place in Richmond's history: it's Dr. Lucille M. Brown, former superintendent of Richmond Public School District and the school's namesake. Dr. Steven Constantino, chief academic officer for the Virginia Department of Education, sits next to her. Brown is a beloved figure at the middle school, inspiring cheers and thunderous applause from the previously sedate audience.
