Coventry 2017 commissioner Ken Wagner

Rhode Island Commissioner of Education Dr. Ken Wagner congratulates Coventry on its academic achievements. Four out of five graduates now goes to college, up from just 61% a decade earlier, and participation in AP classes has risen 300%. These statistics matter, Wagner says, because by 2020 more than 70% of all jobs in Rhode Island will require some post-secondary education. He praises Coventry's teachers for preparing students for the future, no matter where their interests lie: "The road to success does not look the same for each and every one of us." Then Wagner introduces an unexpected guest who has traveled across the country to visit Coventry. But why?
