Colleagues congratulate Milken Educator Award winner Laura Servin after her surprise notification at Whittier Middle School. The teachers are wearing AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) t-shirts; Whittier Middle has earned recognition as an AVID National Demonstration School for helping students navigate the path to college and career. Servin serves on the school's AVID site team.
