Jessica Cunningham Named 2015 DC Milken Educator

 

 

In his remarks to the crowd gathered in the gymnasium of KIPP DC College Prep, Milken Family Foundation Chairman and Co-Founder Lowell Milken stresses the importance of quality educators in shaping the leaders of the future and drawing young people into careers in education. “Research confirms that the quality of the educator in the school is the most important factor in student achievement,” he says. “We know that the pay for teaching is not remotely equivalent to the importance of the job. We need to find new and creative ways to attract talented people to the profession.”
