Jose Martinez is CO's 2013–14 Milken Educator

A fourth-generation teacher from one side, a third-generation teacher from the other, it’s safe to say that Jose Martinez knew what rewards to expect of a career in education...and they weren’t financial. Accepting his 2013–14 Milken Educator Award, Jose tells the crowd: “I've never woken up in six years and said 'I don't want to go to work.'”
That’s not to say that he won’t put the $25,000 to good use. He got married just 10 days ago (to a teacher, no less) and will use part of it for a honeymoon. As for the rest, this finance teacher is going to pay off some of his loans.
