Tracy Foor takes a hands-on approach to teaching math at Norman High School North in Norman, using computers, graphing calculators, manipulatives and maps to give math problems real-life relevance for his students. As sponsor of the school's math club, Mr. Foor engages his students in competitions and invites prominent speakers such as Donna Shirley of NASA's Mars Project to speak before his students. He is an educational leader who has served on the district's secondary-level Mathematics Advisory Board and the Norman Public School Foundation Board. He is currently involved in a two-year mentoring program in advanced math education. Formerly an attorney, Mr. Foor was one of Oklahoma's first math teachers to receive National Board Certification.
