Biographical Information

Susan Stucker is a school improvement specialist and director of English Language Learners (ELL) and Extended Learning Activities for the Window Rock Unified School District #8 in Fort Defiance, Arizona. Stucker is also the project director for the district's 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant. Previously, she taught Spanish at Sage Valley Junior High in Gillette, Wyoming, and at Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland, Kentucky. At Paul G. Blazer, Stucker promoted language immersion and foreign exchange programs. She also founded a sister school exchange program, hosting students from the Instituto Marques de Santillana in Colmenar Viejo, Spain, for a two-week session every fall, and visiting Spain with her upper-level Spanish classes. Stucker made learning Spanish fun through innovations such as vocabulary skits and in-class markets.
