Sandra Lamb teaches general education to the fourth grade students of Bradford Elementary School in Westerly, where she works to combine the best of established as well as new teaching methods. "Creating a vibrant, supportive classroom that allows risk-taking for all learners is essential," says Ms. Lamb. "I work instinctively - adapting to children and their styles of learning." Ms. Lamb has developed and conducted several in-service presentations for teachers and administrators which foster open classroom communication aimed to engage children, teachers, and parents in the learning process. Ms. Lamb's own class integrates reading and writing workshops with various other disciplines to produce a creative and exciting learning environment. Ms. Lamb has also been instrumental in restructuring the curriculum to Bradford Elementary School.
