Biographical Information

Peggy retired from education in June 2011 after 34 years - 30 years as an administrator. After serving as Principal of Moorefield Elementary, she completed a study for the West Virginia Legislature regarding the need for a community college in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. In 1999, the legislature created Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College. Peggy was hired as the first employee and served as Executive Dean for Administrative Services. She left Eastern to develop a new program for mentoring new teachers for RESA 8 (Regional Education Service Agency). Mrs. Hawse was appointed to the Board of Governors of Eastern WV Community & Technical College and was elected Chair. Currently, she works as a Regional Coordinator for United States Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia and operates an educational consulting business, Sunnyside Solutions.
