Patricia Marden is a teacher at High Plains Elementary School in the Cherry Creek School District. Her accomplishments include developing new programs and assessment methods, creating professional study groups, and mentoring new teachers. In addition, she ha published three books that integrate the social studies with cooking and literature ("Cooking Up U.S. History", and "Cooking Up World History"). In her over 40 years in education she has taught children in preschool through sixth grades, has been a reading specialist, has worked as an administrator, and has run her own school. She is sought after as a speaker, and has been invited to give presentations at many conferences on a variety of topics.She has also been one of only seven teachers in the nation invited to attend a meeting of educational researchers and children's museum directors, as part of a Rockefeller Foundation grant.
