As the district's first inclusion teacher, Linda Bare developed and refined the language arts inclusion program now used at Bath Elementary School in Akron. She was also the first teacher in the school to use classroom computers, and has long integrated technology into her fourth-grade curriculum. Mrs. Bare started an after-school tutoring program for at-risk students, recruiting high school honor society students, education majors from the University of Akron, and retired teachers as tutors. To help her reading students maintain continuity, she sends students home during the summer with focused reading packets; she also developed a summer reading program. A National Board Certified teacher, Mrs. Bare is active in the district's Professional Development Committee and the Mentoring Committee.
