Mr. McCann retired in 2026.
While teaching reading and science at La Salle Language Academy, Kevin McCann inspired excellence in his students. His charismatic approach to teaching eliminated boredom in the classroom and demonstrated the importance he attached to vigorous teacher-student relationships. Mr. McCann coached the academic bowl team, managed the after-school social center, and trained students to use audio-visual equipment. Acknowledged by former students for his ability to give them a strong academic foundation, Mr. McCann organized a 10 - year reunion of all students he had taught - an event that drew over 300 people.
