Biographical Information

Kathy Nagaji, curriculum coordinator at Pearl Ridge Elementary School in Aiea, has created a program called Tutoring for Success that draws on parents and community volunteers to serve as one-on-one tutors. Mrs. Nagaji is the school liaison for the Hawaii School University Partnership, helping student-teachers build strong relationships with their mentors. As the school's primary video production instructor, she led her students to the national level in Panasonic's Kid Witness News competition, where they have won four awards for their documentaries. Mrs. Nagaji has received funding for her TA DAH! (Totally Artistic Dance, Act, Harmonize!) project, which instructs educators on integrating performing arts into the curriculum.
