Biographical Information

Karen Wild is a veteran educator who currently serves as the Director of School Improvement in Carrollton City Schools. Her professional career spans more than 30 years including the roles of classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal and director at the system level. Her current role allows her passion for literacy to spill into school improvement efforts as well as facilitating innovations and initiatives such as The Literacy Lane story walk, publication of  the children's book The Trojan Tale, and the STREAM initiative all of which are community partnerships, Mrs. Wild was the Literacy for Living, Leading and Learning grant developer of Carrollton City Schools where the system was awarded over three million dollars for literacy efforts.  In addition, her volunteer efforts and leadership in Ferst Readers of Carroll County and The Lions Club of Carrollton have allowed an even greater impact on the literacy of the community. She has been a volunteer member of Ferst Readers since 2015 where she has served as Board Member at Large, Chair of the Family Education Team, Second Vice President and Chair of Board of Directors. Karen is the wife of Marty Wild and mother to Bailey and Lindsay. She attends First Baptist Church of Villa Rica.
