When Janet Daijogo received her Milken Educator Award, she was a kindergarten teacher at Marin Country Day School. Ms. Daijogo fostered parental participation and encouraged involvement through an informative weekly newsletter which allowed parents to be an integral part of classroom activities. By conducting workshops for fellow teachers and parents, Ms. Daijogo was a leader in nurturing self-esteem in children. Her efforts illustrated her belief in the importance of growing and sharing with colleagues.Â
