Biographical Information

Hertica Martin is the Executive Director for Elementary Teaching and Learning in the Central Kitsap School District. She supervises the elementary programs, fourteen principals and the Director for Special Education. Dr. Martin has been a public school educator for the past 26 years. Before this current position, she was Director for Professional and Organizational Development, Director for Curriculum Development & Implementation in Tacoma Public School and principal at Meadows Elementary School in North Thurston Public Schools. Under her leadership, Meadows Elementary received accreditation status, was recognized for the Blended Services Delivery Model, and was awarded the Dick Williams Human Relations Award. By implementing a collaborative approach and instituting an inclusion model, Dr. Martin helped Meadows Elementary develop an educational environment that benefited from an integrated curriculum, the comprehensive assessment of student achievement and developmentally appropriate instructional approaches.
