Biographical Information

Fred Horlacher teaches history at Reed High School in the Washoe County School District. He is also a teacher and chairman of the history department at Truckee Meadows Community College. Mr. Horlacher is the founder of the Ghost Towners Club, a student group which takes camping trips on which Mr. Horlacher enthralls his students with stories of the Old West. Students for the "Ghost Towners Club " are known to have a commitment to each other for years afterward. Described as a master story-teller, Mr. Horlacher presents students with history enlivened with a mixed curriculum of folklore, theatrical presentation and the study of artifacts.
