Biographical Information

Eula Glenn teaches Spanish to eighth graders at Pelham Middle School in Detroit. She is the founder of Ayuda, a program designed to encourage Spanish-language education which includes a song/dance troupe, a scholarship fund for students aspiring to become Spanish teachers, and a "whole-brain" approach to language learning that utilizes sign language, art, dance, original songs, games, stories, and more to make Spanish come alive. Ms. Glenn has published three Spanish texts that support the Ayuda approach, as well as the Student Survival Handbook and a book of poetry, "The Struggle for Survival." She was named the 1990-91 Detroit Teacher of the Year.
