Principal Elizabeth DuPre has helped shape the Donald C. Parker Early Education Center in Machesney Park into an innovative award-winning school. Recognizing the vital role parents play in a child's education, she created the Parker Parents Convention, a series of sessions aimed at teaching people how to be effective parents. Ms. DuPre established the F.A.S.T. (Families And Schools Together) program to provide guidance and support to at-risk families and has initiated Family Math, Science and Literacy Nights. An early literacy specialist for the district, she coordinates programs for children from birth to age five and has implemented an extended day program for at-risk kindergarten students. Ms. DuPre's Strategic Planning Task Force is developing a vision of Parker Early Education Center for the future.
