Edward M. Jacomo, headmaster of the Friends School in Detroit since 1989, was active in educational planning, curriculum construction, business and industry consultancies, and arts education advocacy for more than 35 years. He was a classroom teacher, college professor, department head and school administrator. An accomplished leader of workshops and seminars, he gave more than 200 addresses and professional presentations. He was named an Outstanding Professor of Humanities by the American Association of University Professors, Teacher of the Year by the State of Michigan, and recipient of the E.C. Clark Award for excellence in teaching.
