Biology teacher Don Curry created a global environmental studies program at Silverado High School in Las Vegas that blends project-based learning and computer-based laboratory and field-study activities with international technology-assisted collaboration. He retired from Clark County Schools in 2008 and currently works from his consulting company, DMC Enterprises, LLC. He currently is contracted to UNLV and assisting in the design of a Summer Youth Program for the University. Additionally, he serves as President of the Board of Governors of Nevada Virtual Academy, a charter school with approximately 3200 students enrolled. He also contracts with Desert Research Institute to monitor air quality in Southern Nevada.
