Biographical Information

Deanna Woods teaches literature and composition at Wilson High School in Portland. Committed to school reform statewide, nationally and internationally, Ms. Woods has served on the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (which she chaired in 1989-90), on the Education Advisory Panel of the New American School Development Corporation and on committees in other organizations concerned with educational development and reform. Her achievements in this area have been recognized locally and internationally with invitations to share her research, writings and practices through workshops and conferences. As a member of the Advisory Committee for House Bill 2020, she has participated in the legislative process, providing her expertise and background to help shape educational reform in Oregon.
