David Rainey is principal of Dumas High School in Dumas. In addition to creating the Faculty Counseling program in which teachers become the advisors to at-risk and high-risk students, Mr. Rainey has developed the All-Star Program--a peer leadership project designed to eliminate self-defeating behavior problems among students. "The quality of our education determines the quality of life we enjoy", Mr. Rainey says. "I am committed to making things a little better than I found them and to promoting the positive qualities of the people with whom I come in contact."
