Currently an instructor at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas, Bruce Graham was a teacher at Bennington High School in rural Bennington at the time of his Award. At that time, his classes in theoretical and applied technologies provided students with the knowledge and experience they needed to be successful in the 21st century. In his "Learning to Earn" course, for example, students not only designed, created and sold a product, they also developed woodworking skills and built their competencies in areas such as small business management and marketing. In Graham's material science course, students learned the properties and uses of a wide range of industrial materials through hands-on project learning. He also taught a fully accredited college-level class in technology applications entirely via the Internet. A farmer and cattleman, Graham is also director of his community's volunteer ambulance service.
