He forged a partnership with the MedCenter College of Nursing using Title I funds to bring trained medical personnel to the parents and teachers at Myhre Elementary. He has established free before- and after-school programs with community-based "Open Door" enrichment activities, homework clubs, art lessons and outdoor skills training. He has also expanded technological resources and is active in the school's Teaching and Technology (TNT) program.
