Gerald Waugh (IA ’97) passed away on January 25, 2019, after a brief illness. He was 73. At the time of his Milken Award, Gerald was a principal at Jefferson-Scranton High School, where he created a sought-after education technology program that allowed students to take dual enrollment courses through community colleges. A lifelong educator, he served as a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent in numerous communities in Iowa, including Eldora, Atlantic, Ft. Dodge, Jefferson and Grundy Center.
