When Temperance Tinker Kays calls her mother to share the good news about her $25,000 Milken Educator Award, there's a bigger audience on the other end of the phone than she expected. Her mother, also a teacher, has several young students with her, so Temperance tells all of them about her Award. She thanks her mother for being such a good role model. "Thank you for being an amazing daughter, mother and teacher!" replies her mother.
