Tom Sferes was an adjunct instructor in education at the University of New England in Biddeford, ME, where he taught online courses in the MSEd program. Courses that he has taught include: The High Performing Teacher, Collaborative Action Research, Differentiated Instruction, Curriculum Design, Authentic Assessment and Educational Leadership. Sferes also taught Spanish part-time at Biddeford Middle School. Together with his colleague Diana Mullins, he received the 2009 Exemplary Practice Award from the Maine Association of Middle Level Educators (MAMLE) for their year- long "Kindness Crew Initiative" at Biddeford Middle School.
