Steve Brehmer, retired physics teacher from Mayo High School in Rochester, launched what would be a long-term relationship with the National Aeronautics and Space Agency when he was a finalist for the Teacher in Space program. His ongoing work with NASA led him and his students to develop an experiment that has twice been launched aboard the space shuttle. He also flew an experiment on NASA's zero-g plane and took several of his students on an exchange program to Russia, where they witnessed a Russian space launch. Currently he teaches a physics class for education majors at the University of Minnesota.
