Larry Ginoza has been football coach at Waianae High School for 34 years. He is respected for his extraordinary ability to motivate the students to do their best in the classroom as well as on the football field. Through coaching, Mr. Ginoza teaches his students the meaning of work, loyalty, commitment and sacrifice. He has developed programs for athletes including a football coaching clinic and the Student Athlete Speaker Program that demonstrate his firm belief that academic and personal development should come before athletics. In 1978 Mr. Ginoza received the Allan F. Saunders Award for his contributions to public services, specifically, for his work with Waianae youth.
