Donna York was a classroom science teacher for 21 years before she accepted her new position as teacher expert for the Anchorage School District. In 1990, she was one of 100 teachers in the nation chosen to attend the NEWMAST-NASA Educational Workshop for Math, Science, and Technology Teachers. Also in 1990, she received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching. Ms. York has been active in science fairs and as a master teacher, and is currently chair of the Educational Review Committee for the Imaginarium, a science activity center in Anchorage. She is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, and a past President of the Alaska Science Teachers Association.
