Biographical Information

David Capaldi is the head of the mathematics department at Toll Gate High School in Warwick. An educator because he enjoys being with students and receives great satisfaction watching young people master the mysteries of mathematics, Mr. Capaldi is a firm believer in universal, comprehensive public education, adequately funded and supported by the community it is charged to serve. "I am firmly committed to working to establish such an environment," says Mr. Capaldi, "so that the staff and students I work with can grow and develop to the best of their ability." As department head, Mr. Capaldi has developed innovative practices that have strengthened the mathematics curriculum. "I enjoy helping to create an environment in which my colleagues are able to grow, work and contribute in an open and caring atmosphere."
