Biographical Information

Debi Barrett-Hayes is the art department co-chair of the visual arts department at Florida State University's K-12 Charter Research School in Tallahassee, Florida. Ms. Barrett-Hayes was one of the first National Board Certified Teachers and was recently recertified in 2006. She is a practicing and published artist and educator, and has been featured in the Getty Foundation's "Arts in Action" Series, the Disney Channel's "School's In" documentary and the Harvard Project Zero Classroom Action series. Ms. Barrett-Hayes is also an accomplished grant writer and incorporates community service annually into her art classes.
